Best GEEK in NYS - Geek Squad Svc Call

Your policy to call the Geek Squad at the 1-800 # was not helpful to me! The Geek who came here was certainly not a credit to Best Buy or the Geek Squad at my store in New Hartford, NY. I would rather have scheduled an appointment at my store to have had Christopher Marriott from New Hartford, NYs Best Buy make my service call.

I rec'd an early Christmas present from Best Buy to replace the Dell I ordered online (worse mistake). It was trouble from day one for me on a first name basis w/most of their Techs for the x's I called!

My HP from Best Buy was a better computer but unable to connect me to the internet. In comes the Geek from who-knows-where?? Made BB look bad and nearly lost me as a customer from that call. All he did was enable me to play solitaire off line and wait for Microsoft to contact me to do that magical "Discovery Disc Creation 1-2-3" he assured me would correct the problem. It DIDN'T!

In total frustration and stress, I called Best Buy in New Hartford for help. Steve (Asst Mngr) was wonderful and very helpful to schedule a call from my BB store. It was worth the short wait and MORE!!!

Christopher Marriott not only corrected the problem but helped me to both use and understand my HP in the way that Geek from Nowhere DID NOT. In less time than a half hour program he found the trouble and corrected it. He also made sure it was right before he left. I cannot compliment Best Buy in New Hartford, NY enough....if it weren't for management's superior customer service policy, my $1200 computer would only be good for offline solitaire! If it weren't for the Geek Squad's ability, knowledge, expertise, courtesy, attention to detail and time to walk a customer through those few little things that mean so much for total use of a computer...I'd be reading more and puting less! Christopher Marriott is a credit to this store and your entire Best Buy corporation. I only wish every Geek in a VW had his know-how, attitude and the spirit of true customer service.

I sincerely hope that Best Buy Headquarters will thank the New Hartford store management and Geek (Chrisopher Marriott) for us both. They certainy deserve to be credited with the best service and the satisfaction for me to recommend this store to anyone considering a BIG or small purchase. They are SECOND to NONE!!!

In closing, please change that policy for us to be able to go directly to our own store's Geek Squad for an appointment.....I assure you that will not only improve customer relations and customer satisfaction but increase sales.
