recently my son went to Best But to purchase a washer and dryer. He is on my account so there should have been no problem. He was told the account was closed. When I called to find out why the rep told me that I had cancelled the account 1 year ago. Really?!?! When I explaine to him and then his supervisor that I did not cancel my account and it concerns me that some one had taken it upon themselves to make adjustments to a private account they seemed unmoved and worse not the least bit concerned about the fact. they said that I would have reapply if I wanted an account ane could not understand my anger and conern that THEY made a blunder and expected me to be OK with it! UNBELIEVABLE !!! Poor service and total disregard for privacy! I guess HIPPA laws aply to everyone but Best Buy !

My sister order a TV on line, it was a discontinued item that could not be shipped. The TV was for me. We live in different states. before she place the order I contacted my local Best Buy first to see if it was in stock and second to see if she could process the order on line and I could pick it up. I was told she could but would need to list me as the as the party picking, I was told I would only have to show the store my idenification. We received an email notice that the order was received and we would receive a second email in approximately 45 minutes advising when the TV could be picked up. I waiting two hours for the email. Then I determined maybe they just forgot to include me in the email. I went to the local store to pick up the TV. When I got there I was told they were still waiting for the credit card authorization which seems strange, since my sister and I both have excellent credit. I thought maybe the Credit Card Company, computers were down. I called my Sister and she call the credit card company. She was told the transaction had been approved sometime ago. I went back into the store and then I was told I would need to talk to the Corporate office because the were waiting for some kind of clearance that proved who My sister and I were. Not once did they ask for my ID. I spoke with Corporate and could not get a straight answer I had to speak with three different people. I did advise them legally they cannot run a background check or a credit report with our written permission. I thought this was quite odd, since the credit card transaction had gone through and we were not applying for credit The transaction was under $400.00. This process was so humiliating, we ended up cancelling the order. I and my sister will never do business with Best Buy again.
